WDW Inside Out - January Edition (1/3)

Part One. Here's Scott Herriott in an insider's look at the new stuff going on at WDW in 1995. He explores the opening of the new attraction ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and the Downtown Disney - Planet Hollywood. It's a good look at some retro 90's Disney material. Enjoy.

Ah. The good old days...back when the Chinese Theater was the symbol for the Disney Studios instead of that stupid giant hat.

@greenfury87 The alien continues to breathe on you (and even lick you) for about 15 seconds before power is restored. The creature is brought back into the teleportation tube, and the scientists try to teleport the alien out of the room. Instead, the creature explodes, drenching everyone with its blood. Direcly afterwards, guests are released.

It's a complex attraction, considering it took me 3 comments to describe the whole ride.

@greenfury87 After breaking out, the power is knocked out, so a maintenance worker must turn it back on. We see a flashlight from the rafters above moving around above the audience. Shortly after, the TV monitors show an infrared view of the room. The maintenance man tries to fix the power, but gets killed by the alien. His blood drips on the audience, right before the alien spits more onto the crowd.

@greenfury87 Essentially, XS Tech, the company running the demo, is selecting a volunteer from the audience to be teleported. However, the president of the company abruptly changes plans so that HE is sent to Earth. He gets teleported, but the signal is intercepted by another planet. The signal gets found, but the president of the company has now morphed into a carnivorous alien who breaks out into the audience.

@amdetata We could write to or email the Disney Channel and request that they bring it back. Try that. I'll try that as well and if you know how to upload. Another episode I would really love to see is the halloween edition with Gilbert Godfreed on the Tower Of Terrer.
