Tampa Police Looking for Robber Armed with Assault Weapon

Robber enters hotel lobby video with mask off--Anyone with information is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130

Date: 07/26/2009, 4:53 a.m.

Where: Days Inn, 2522 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa

Suspect: Hispanic male, fair skinned, 18-25 years old, 56 to 58, 140-155 lbs., clean shaven (baby face), short black hair (gelled).Last seen wearing black/dark brown cargo style pants, black boots, black shirt. Head cover was believed to have been a lace style female clothing article. Subject wore a single glove on his left hand.


Details:
On 7/26/2009 at approximately 4:53 a.m., the suspect entered the front lobby to the Days Inn Hotel armed with an assault AR-15 style weapon with mounted scope and collapsible stock. The suspect walked into the business managers office and confronted the night shift clerk with his face uncovered. After giving her a plastic Sweetbay grocery bag, the subject lowered his face covering and demanded money from clerk. While the victim was placing the money in the bag, the suspect was counting backwards in intervals of 15 seconds starting with 604530etc. Once the suspect obtained the money, he ordered the clerk on the ground and threatened to shoot her if she got up within 30 seconds. The subject fled hotel in an unknown direction.

Good point fukmeh626: Also notice that his finger is never on the trigger. The suspect is probably ex-law enforcement or military. This isn't your everyday sloppy robbery suspect. She did seem kind of relax and unfrightened.

the girl is in on it, the robber is so relaxed and passive towards her the whole time, she is unafraid it seems, calm at least, does exactly what he says he never points the gun at her, stands within inches of her at times, she never tries for the gun. Thats a big gun to be maneuvering around behind the counter especially is sh got him off his feet (totally possible given the way he holds his gun). She was in on it, he barely even looks at her and turns his back to her when he leaves.
