@section8ski I am a ski teacher as well. Sometimes a slight change of focus can make a significant difference.

@section8ski ya good point i guess i am jaded by some of whistlers run and ski movies. not to mention though skeptical i tried this tip out on bumps and it really helped to keep in the fall line

@rabbittbabbitt - It is impossible to tell how steep a slope is from a video because things are often foreshortened and trees are often leaning downhill due to constant snow sluffing... True... this is not super gnarly terrain but believe it or not it is actually steeper than an average double black diamond at most resorts. Your average recreational skier would consider that steep and that is who this tutorial was created for.
I agree about reaching down the hill to help me keep up with my skis. I do however. find it better for me to reach with the pole tip, not the hand. The hand follows of course but if I think the pole tip empahsis works better for me; it makes the hand quicker and I am more aware of where I plant the pole.

@jimidee33 Sounds like a good way to think about... perhaps I'll give that try with some students.
