I need my hard drive for video work, but isn't the MS-DOS system another name for FAT32? If it is, then damn! (cause my hard drive is already FAT32 and it won't let me put files that are over 4GB in size onto it :(
Any help is greatly appreciated

Hey dragonpme. Does a mac mini need a 2.5 external hard drive? - I got a 3.5 500GB WD for christmas and cannot use it on my mac mini, is that why, because its a 3.5 instead of 2.5?

My statement is kinda old; jst updating it. Well if u into open source software, there is macfuse and ntfs 3g bundle which does the same as NTFS for MAC OX. ITS FREE. Im using it and its gr8. One thing though; i havnt figured out how to make it work with spotlight so it easier to look for my files on the hard drive. Any help?

I jst checkd now. Apple has also added the product to their downloads page under utilities. So it tells you that it's a good one.

any suggestions on what to do when after you format the firewire external harddrive on a mac and only can put documents on it? everytime i try to put anything besides a document i get error code -36 the finder cannot complete the operation because some data in the file could not be read or written.

U can buy a software called ' NTFS FOR MAC OS X'(google it then click the first link result.The software is made by a firm called Paragon). Once installed on your mac os, Any NTFS hard drive will now read and write without any problem at all.
