  • I think the BMW Mini will have had its day now that customers have a choice between this new A1 and say the Mini Cooper.

The layout of the Mini is poor and rear visibility in the convertible is shocking.

Ive sat in the new A1 and the build quality is remarkable.

The MIni is well made i know but the A1 is a significant step up in quality.

Pricing for both cars are quite similar but the A1 will no doubt retain more of its value.

Move over Mini the A1 has taken your crown.

  • I love Audi a1!

  • the engine on the 2010-present Audi A1

    Engine

    1.2 L TFSI 63 kW I4 petrol

    1.4 L TFSI 90 kW I4 petrol

    2.0 L TFSI 188 kW I4 petrol

    1.6 L TDI 77 kW I4 diesel

    2.0 L TDI 105 kW I4 diesel

  • what a shitty design, pure Audi.

It looks even worse when I see it with my eyes :)

  • @MrYision

And you call the BMW Mini cheap.

It's similarly priced to the A1 here in the Uk.

The Cooper and Cooper S is more expensive than certain A1 models.

I know because ive got the price list and have ordered a new A1 TDi. As for building 50,000 A1s that is probably for the whole of Europe because i have to wait until near the end of March 2012 until i take delivery.

I could have a new Mini in six weeks.

  • @llandudnoboy In 2010 Audi built 50.000 A1 and sold 28.000. It's a nice car, but it's just too expensive.

  • @MrYision

The reason behind that is Audi manufacture so few A1s.

I was told in my local Audi dealership that BWM manufacture 3 of their Minis for every A1.

The Mini is a common sight on British Roads and it's rare to see an A1 simply because its not built in large numbers.

Audi deliberately want the A1 to be seen as a up market alternative to the Mini and there is still a three month wait if you order a new A1 as there are so few around.

  • @MrYision

The reason for that is that for every three minis manufactured by BMW, Audi manufacture just one A1.

The Mini is a mass production vehicle, you only have to see how many are on our roads.

Outside Queensferry near Liverpool is a Mini only agent with nearly 180 cars new and second hand.

The Audi dealership on Anglesea has only three A1 and if you want a new one there is still a four months waiting list.

The A1 will always be a rare sight the BMW mini is everywhere.

  • @llandudnoboy seems like you were completely wrong, 20.000 A1 sold and 50.000 Minis sold last year

  • In Europe traction and grip are referred to under the umbrella term 'Road Holding'. My friends never believed me, now I have found a video to send them as proof.

  • i like the car alot but it's 10k euros too expensive, in Belgium it costs 32000 euro for a full option 143 hp diesel, that's just too much for a car that size :D
