This is working only on some models, so if this way it is not working on your TV then it is different way for your series of TV. Of course changing configuration in service menu if you don't know what are you doing can damage your TV.

You should never tweek the service menu settings unless you know what you are doing you can screw up your tv.

@2009ERV All TV manufacturers have issues. Funny thing because say Samsung is a well respected brand. Well if you look at the forums on AVSforums you will see that many TVs such as say the Philips XXPF9631D & xxPF9630A models many have all the boards manufactured by SAMSUNG.... LOL...
Every maker has good & bad ideas, brands, components and layouts... saying not to buy the worlds largest TV maker (Philips) is just silly. But they sold off the US div. bc of that same uninformed thinking.
