For her scholarly mastery of singing, and the fingering skillfully with which she accompanied herself on the lute (while directing her orchestra), for the art with which she serves so difficult classical Arabic, Laure Daccache has its place in the firmament of the stars of Arabic music. But the Egyptian, Lebanese Maronite origin, is more than that: she was one of the few women composers of the Arab world.

She made her first recordings at the age of eight in 1926.
