@DefSp 1/I've wanted 1 for yrs, but can't rationalize my budget: I've become an expert on the used market. 2/ No bike: Main unit is full-range upperbody push + upperbody pull. 3/No other stepper has ultra-wide range & high resistance. 4/Self-adjusting:1st rep & last rep fully resist your best effort. 5/ROM has no skill transfer, but neither do barbells: I don't know why teams don't use it. They probably never tried it. 7/Ellipticals have virtually no resistance & no range of motion. 8/Try it.
@lazur1 If you say so, I couldn't care less to verify this, and doubt you have spent years searching for the frequency of sales of the ROM, haha. A step machine combined with a stationary bike is not ground breaking technology in the 21st century. What's more, if this was so great why do absolutely no professional sports teams use them in their facilities? An elliptical trainer far surpasses this in every way imaginable.
@DefenceSpeech They've already been around for 20 years. Not only are they -not- "collecting dust", but used ROMs for sale are virtually non-existant, which, in the case of such a large & expensive item, leads to the reasonable conclusion that they're still being used with the desired effect.
@yaktipper Yes. As a far as equipment, I personally feel quite content with a few heavy dumbbells, a chinning bar, dipping bars, a jump rope, and the floor, along with 30 minutes to use them. I nonetheless believe, after using one a few times , that the ROM takes the place of all of them in the four minutes claimed..so, yes, vanity, but also efficiency & completeness, except for rehearsing sport specific skills
I'm glad we agree. You are saying the average person can get all the fitness they need from free pushups, chinups, dips, situps, and squats, and this machine is like an expensive car, mainly for vanity not fitness.
@lazur1 'Makohit': Why'd you remove your comments? Why'd you send me a private message w/a note that I'm blocked from returning a message ? What made you think I'd send you a private message? i'll take your mass deletion as an admission that you've been defeated. By the way, your mentor,'Scooby' is added to the long list of opionated people who've never tried the ROM. The other pieces he critiques lower intensity too low for effective exercise. ROM RAISES intensity. You'd know if you tried it.
1/You push, I push. 2/ My point: It's not a scam. 3/ Those who've had no personal contact with this machine item have meaningless opinions based on preconcieved ideas, ignorance. Correctness isn't democratic. 4/ It doesn't matter TO YOU what I think. yet, somehow, it does, judging by your responses. 5/This machine is NOT FOR serious athletes. It's for middle-age, upper-middle-class or richer, busy non-athletes, to get a quick, intense workout. 6/ If I'm wasting my time, what are you doing?
@makohit I'm a 'fan' of nothing, but curious about everything: I take what works for me from different systems & throw the rest away. It's called first-hand experience. Try it sometime, you might like it. / If you investigate a bit further, you'll see that I've been very critical of both the 1RepGym & ROM when exaggerated claims were made for them. / If all I am is as you say, what are you for responding?
It should be called the POS exercise machine.
