  • Hogan did not have a 1 plane or stack and tilt swing. His plane was flat and his planes were closer then most. You can not have a true 1 plane swing because the axis from the swing changes from the rear to the front leg in the transition. HOGAN DID NOT HAVE A REVERSE PIVOT. HIS SWING WITH THE FLEXED RIGHT KNEE AND FOOT ACTION (EVERSION) GAVE THE APPEARANCE OF HANGING ON HIS LEFT SIDE.MOST OF HIS WEIGHT WAS INSIDE HIS RIGHT HEEL. JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY MOST GOLF INSTRUCTION IS BAD.

  • @kukocs13 You should watch more footage on Hogans, he had preaccident motions and he postaccident motion. He did what I said he did in his pitch shots.Plenty of videos where the rt leg straighten and the hip center moves rt. Pendulum hips in full swing, weight moving between heels of the feet. His tail bone was the rutter to his ship. He spun it around toward rt heel on the down swing more for a fade and less for draw. Lots of different motion until the end when he had to stay left from pain

  • Great info. How would you translate this to the driver?

    Thanks

  • @secretogolf

With the driver a lot a players get the spine tilting a little too forward and that just won't work with the way the club is designed. The theory of SnT still works youjust have to tilt your self in more of a reverse Kat the set up and during the swing try not to lose that. When you watch Hogen with a driver ver irons you will see a difference

  • Thank you!!

I found Jim Hardy's book in a bookstore one rainy afternoon and the lights went on for me. No more taking random advice. I've been using the one plane swing for about 3 weeks and hit the ball better and more confidently than ever before . But, my pitching fell apart. When I hit the occassional good pitch, my next full swing(s) wouldn't be the same. I will work on trying to get "all the key motions of the (one plane) full swing" into my pitches.

  • I have watched and studied Hogan for years and have a degree in biomechanics. Most golfers hang left on their pitch shots. I was not talking about pitch shots. Look at the angle of hogans spine on his backswing. Hogan did not have a reverse pivot. He definitely transferred weight to the right side. Read about eversion which causes the left hip to go in the opposite direction during the backswing . Check out Sevam1 on Youtube and the Rotary swing (Chuck Quinton).

  • nice.... you hit it like a really inflexible old person.. But it also means NO over rotation, no mechanics to stop momentum through the wrist, NO over exertion on the backswing. I like it coz every bad shot i have ever played was caused by 1 of the 3 things i mentioned...... thanks..

  • Billy just so you know is Hogan had one of the largest head motions off the ball. I have studied Mr. Hogan's swing on computer analysis for over 15 years. S&T may well work but it is not even close to what Mr Hogan did. For credibility watch Mr. Hogan's swing in slow motion. I am not trying to belittle you it's just your analysis is wrong. Here is a vid that will help you understand. search youtube for "Hogan reverse pivot". I have some other vids that I can send you
