  • What type of organ pipe are you making in this video? Looks like a flute type pipe. Does it have a tuning stopper, or is it an open ended flute?

  • @tempetiger It's supposed to be a principle pipe but it ended up sounding more like a flute. It's open ended.

  • It is so wierd! The pipe glueing with the glue spray? I think the PVA, or the animal glue is the best friend of the organ builders. I don't think so the glue spray is too strong to keep together the wooden pipe sides through at more years. I saw how it's made the strong and durable organ pipes.

  • @Zumipali2 The spray is polyurethane, not glue.

  • @raphig Why must to blow down polyurethane the pipes. Is this some kind of varnish?

  • @Zumipali2 Yes, it's a finish.

  • I made my first set of organ pipes using the information from this video and the list of pipe dimensions found on Raphi's website. I have had certain voicing issues with the smaller pipes, but his technique is sound. I prefer to sand the block down to get the windway dimensions, I want to have my fingers attached so I can play the organ when it is done. It is great to see someone who is willing to share and pass along good information. I hope to complete my small one rank organ this summer.

  • I always use a paper or card gasket to produce a slot under the cap. It's a easier and safer than ballancing a router on top of an unfinished pipe. Very good video and usefull too, thankyou very much for posting it. :)

  • agreed, im jealous of that garage!

  • Wonderful ! But it's cheating a bit ... you have a $50,000 workshop!
