The Fightpad in action playing Street Fighter 4. The Fightpad is a lot easier to use than the 360 d-pad which as we all know is less than ideal. If you're a controller user then you will really enjoy using these pads as they make half circles and such a breeze. There is a little switch on the back thats lets you choose to use the black thumb pad as either a regular digital pad or as a left or right analog stick. You can even map the three button presses you need to pull of an ultra combo to the top two buttons which for some reason are LB (left) and LT (right). I've found the thumb pad is a lot more responsive in Street Fighter 4 when you switch it to the left analog stick setting. The turbo function works by pressing the turbo button along with the button you want to turbo-fy? turbo-nate? add turbo-nomics too? Whatever, I really only bought this pad because I collect video game stuff and this pad is as pretty as a farmers daughter. For me it's really tough to use a pad and get my moves and combos off consistently. But for you pad lovers this is your ticket to an easier Dragon Punch but it still won't cure the thumb cramps pads give you when using charge characters (ouch).
My verdict:
Pad lovers = REJOICE! (angels singing in backround)
Stick Lovers = Keep it moving, nothing to see here.
Collectors = Yummerz (must...have...all...versions....my budget, no!)

Pad was purchased at gamestop for retail price 39.99.

  • Hey my question is the same dgripper05...I am a complete beginner in fighting games and my friends just got me into playing SSSFIV..My main characters are Dudley and Dhasilm..I am not bad with the regular 360 controller but I think its time for an upgrade. Would you recommend a pad or a fight stick.

Oh yea i am into roll characters and not really found of the whole charge thing.sorry for being so long.

  • @Fe11a11

I'll always recommend an arcade stick. But if your a pad only player, this pad is definitely better than the standard XBOX 360 controller.

  • so would you recommend this for beginners?

  • @dgripper05

Sure, It's much easier to pull off moves and with the six face buttons you wont have to fumble around with the regular control pad triggers.

  • whered u buy it? and how much?

  • Gamestop, 39.99.

  • @snitches2442 since its pad, down diagonal right just like analog

  • how do you pull off hadoukens and ultras with a d-pad cause dont you have to make special analog movements?

  • I can tell you're a fatty because you have fat hands LOL

  • Never seen a button masher in action, it's disgusting. Pad players shouldn't play E. Honda, because the piano method should be the only method for E. Honda players, everything else looks noobish.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB

  • button smasher :))

  • LOL at your mashing.

  • lol pad is made for guys who wanted to spam quarter cercle and random push all buttons / for the guys who wanted to play skill and straight timing for links for example....u have to buy an arcade stick with sanwa parts.... question? ask me...
