The Yorkshireman, a tour originally planned to run on the 6th June behind 5690 Leander & 45407 double head to york, was put back a month and a week, for the better due to a Locomotive Change, that loco was my personal favourite, Br Standard class 7 4-6-2 pacific No.70013 'Oliver Cromwell' the final pacific type loco in service for British Railways and Hauler of the Manchester - Carlisle Leg of the In-famous Fifteen Guinea Special
after hearing the news on 70013 I cancled any plans i had for the day the tour was being run. how ever, this week was my final week doing Work Experiance, and when i looked at the dates i was working they had put me down for the 11th, so imidiatly i paniced and asked the manager of the company i worked with for the week if it was a mistake, thankfully it was and all was well
in this video, we see 70013 arrive with the Tour from Watford, baked in sunshine with a refreshing cool breeze. then we see the loco being detatched from the coaches and performing light engine moves to and from Yorks Trinagle, then finally we see the loco simmering awaiting departure then getting the all clear, steaming out of york, creating a fantastic atmosphere dispite the train being a good 30 minutes late to leave
sadly the day didn't go as planned, my orginally intentions of see the loco on the return at Church Fenton were cut short due to signaling problems at the station, how ever i'm glad i didn't in the end
some of you may be interested that i am going behind this actual locomotive when it hauls the Scarborough Spa Express in september, i will be travling on the 2nd of september from leeds to scarborough, how could i re-fuse a £15 return behind this wonderful engine
this is the last video that i will upload with youtube in its current, appealing state, as of the 15th the site is being re-developed with new channels, which has ruined the spirits of my friends and so many other youtubers due to youtube forcing us to have them, rather than being given a vote.
Thanks for sharing, I missed this train as they changed routes from Watfrod Jct missing out St Albans and going straight to Bletchley, well miffed as it rained and I waited in vain!!!.
Glad you made it and was able to share it with us.
