When applying lube or oil, it is best to do so on the top side of the lower chain section, doing so on the top means that when your pedal the lube actually moves away from the chain, where as if you do it on the lower section of the chain it moves into the chain. Gotta love sheldon brown ;)
Where are the baby wipes? Every cyclist knows that baby wipes are the best thing for cleaning a chain!

Wat does cleaning a bike actually do
-
the bike is already clean why not use a dirty bike

Thanks. Might have been more useful if a filthy bike was used to start off with

Thanks for the info. Could i use spray chain oil instead of bottled oil?. It says chain lube on the can.

@leeshez Yes, you can, but be careful not to spray the oil on the braking surface of the rim or the disc brake rotors (depending on what sort of bike you have).

Jools is using the chain cleaner incorrectly, check the park tools website, he is qualified as what?

@martinhkelly Thank you for your comment, you are right, good spot, it indeed wasn't used the way it was supposed to be. In Jules' defence, in the workshop they normally work with professional tools and that might be the reason that he wasn't 100% familiar with the intricacies of this tool. However, you are absolutely right and we are right no in the process of reshooting it so it's shown correctly.
