Lang-8 Premium:
http://lang-8.com/premium/intro

In this video I go over Lang-8 Premium, explaining (rather quickly) why I think the premium version of Lang-8 is great for speeding up your Japanese learning. If you use Lang-8 a lot, you'll get a ton of benefit out of the premium version. If you only use Lang-8 a little bit, though, you probably won't see as much of the benefit. If you don't use lang-8 at all, you should probably get on that.

Lang-8 Premium is $5/month or $45/year, totally worth the benefits you get (as long as you use Lang-8 a decent amount... though every lower-intermediate and above Japanese learner should, I think!).

Not a high enough level to use Lang-8 and want to being? I recommend TextFugu:

  • @MoniqueLea08 The free version isn't time-limited~ The premium just gives you extra features, but the free version works great too~

  • Is the free version of lang-8 an one shot wonder, or could you try it out for an week or so longer, say an month, to see if you want to stay with them or not? >.<

  • I feel like one of the few people that dislike the premium feature of putting entries to the top for premium members. The other features such as the pdf file is cool.

Perhaps it depends on the language being learned. But that feature rubs me the wrong way. I do pay for other supplementary learning sites but I feel reluctant to get a premium account with lang-8.

  • If you are learning Japanese, you don't need to pay for premium there are a ton of Japanese people that will correct your entries right away, I never have to wait more than a few minutes and there is always 5-6 new people every time. If you are learning English it might be worth paying for, but for Japanese there are a greater number of natives willing to correct your entries, just always be polite and thank them and they will come back. In this economy, save your money for gas ;)

  • Awesome. I just checked out Lang-8 and signed up since they can do Thai as well, which is really cool. Thai does not stink like my Japanese does, like really, really does - like sweaty armpit-on-a-humid-July-afternoon-on-a-crowded-bus-with-no-shower-for-three-days stinks. You get the picture. ; )
