In which I review the first volume of the current Thor series.

I apologize but after about 5:45 there's no sound. This is a technical error that I can't fix because I've lost the audio to this vid. So you can just stop after that point.

  • I say you can pick up Thor: Disassembled if you want to get a feel of how things ended for Thor and the Asgardians and how it changed his status quo (ie: Thor is now in charge and Odin's gone). I love JMS's writing, but man he does a slow burn like no one's business! Same thing with Supreme Power which I loved, but it took forever to get things going. Sad that it left MAX and went to crap when he left. Anyway, if you want more action, check out Fraction's minis. They're awesome.

  • I will deffinitly do that when they hit trade (my comic shop closed a year back and I can't get single issues anymore without travling way far away). I'd really like to read more of Thor. But I don't like the essential books being in black and white and the Walter Simonson books are out of print.

Any you'd sugest (outside of Fraction's)

  • Check out the trade for Thor: Blood Oath by Michael Avon Oeming. He wrote the Disassembled story for Thor. Blood Oath is a great Thor story set in not only Asgard, but in the other mythological realms of Greece, Ireland, Japan and Egypt. Thor: The Eternals Saga is probably the granddaddy epic when it comes to his classic stories. The two volumes add up to over 400 pages according to Amazon!

  • I'll deffinetly check out the Eternals Saga stuff. If I can get a hold of them would you recamend Walter SImonson's stuff?

  • is it only me or does the sound stop at 05:54? xP

  • That was an accedent on my part and I've lost the audio so i can't reajust the time and re post it. But thanks for bringing this to my attention I missed that.

  • @kakuman1995 alien cyborg dude who fought with thor was able to lift hammer and gain thors powers, odin liked him made him his own hammer and put the transformatioon spell from thors hammer to bills hammer so he can return to his natural alien form...tada

  • who is beta ray bill

  • they're reprinting the Walter Simonson books so you will be able to read it

  • I definitely would. Thing is, I've always loved Thor, but only really started reading his stuff a few years ago. Every time I looked into it, Walt's name kept coming up. He pretty much set the standard for the character post Lee and Kirby era.
