A review of the JoliCloud OS, which is a cloud OS (similar concept to Google Chrome OS). It is based on Linux and supports native applications and Adobe AIR.

  • Thank You for visiting 7-11 Come Again

  • his father is the one who helped make Chrome OS as seen on he ChromeOS account for the keynote ;)

  • I have a 1gig RAM Acer Aspire one and just started JoliCloud on it. It is a dual boot with Windows Vista. Will adding an SSD to replace my HDD make anything noticably faster ?Jolicloud is fast but I was wondering if I have a Windows OS liek vista/xp if that can b made faster.

  • How do I type papers if I have this os

  • jashsayani rules. Thanks for this. Thinking of installing it on my EEE900.

  • @jashsayani why?

  • @lupuradu ... That is just my point, Jolicloud 1.0 is very iPhoney... And, I'm not a fan of the iPhone or the "app store" paradigm. "sudo aptitude install" works just fine for me.

  • @lupuradu I had the pre-release version of Jolicloud. As soon as I upgraded to version 1.0, I hated it. Plus, I'm not the biggest fan of cloud-ware. The developers can change applications whenever they please, and there is nothing the user can do about it.

  • @Hoopermazing I was thinking about the opposite! The initial release of Jolicloud was so damn similar to Ubuntu's NBR edition fact for which you might consider installing that distribution. Jolicloud 1.0 brings something quite different , it brings that facility of installing or accessing applications like you do on the iphone for example. If you ask me , this OS is the most suitable for a netbook which by its nature it's an internet-oriented machine!

  • I loved this version of Jolicloud... but they've ruined it in Jolicloud 1.0
