@trck1313 the projectile went a few hundred yards. Not as far as i would have hoped for all the work it took to make.

so i have a question , how is the winch released??
me and my partner are kinda stuck on how were gonna lock and release our balista =/

@terrence1993 It is a wheel lock style trigger. you push a bar down and it allows the latch to spin on its axel. Its a pretty simple design but it works well and its prettu safe. Its very similar to the sear and trigger mechanism on a hammer fired pistol.
