The Benchmade 147 Nim Cub II and Ontario RAT-3 are both quality smaller fixed blades. On paper these two knives have a lot in common. Both have 3.5 inch drop point blades. Both come with an ambidextrous plastic sheath with multiple carry options. Both are lightweight and compact enough to serve as a fixed blade EDC if thats what you need.

In this video we'll talk about what the knives have in common, and also look at the differences. These differences are considerable, and may assist a potential buyer decide which knife would best suit their needs.

  • @TheRATPT01 I don't have a HEST to do a review. I see DPx is bring out some new fixed blades, the 6" looks interesting, but the price seems high. It will be interesting to see reviews when they get into folks hands.

  • I'd like to see an ESEE HEST vs. the RAT-3. I believe you can still find the HEST for maybe 200 bucks on the net. Kinda expensive but...Great review as always!
