In June 2008, Yannick Nézet-Séguin will succeed maestro Valery Gergiev as principal conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands.
This footage was recorded in november 2007 when he led the Rotterdam Philharmonic in a programme with works by Strauss, Mahler and Beethoven. Video courtesy of RTV Rijnmond.
He looks like a kid and not like a Conductor. He is NO Dudamel. But for the Netherlands I am sure he is fine. Way too unsophisticated for New York.

@mikabrains God knows I'm trying to stick to the music. but Mr Seguin ruins practically every performance he ever gives (not to mention interviews: the poor lad talks and thinks like a twat). Mr Seguin must feel eternally grateful to his agents for having such a 'successful' career. What do these agents see in him that is so promising? That is a question many of us ask ourselves.

@verygrumpyoldman thats terribly superficial. I suppose you dont like Paavo Jarvi because he looks like Putin? Stick to the music please.

I'm glad to see that the Rotterdam Symphony are recruiting ex-Mafia convicts, judging by his horrendous fashion sense... Time to have a long and hard look at yourself in the mirror Mr Seguin!
