Actually, it's the people who send young men to their deaths that see them as Fodder. I doubt that was the view of the singer, but simply her way of exposing the view of our nations leaders.

The Killing Fields in South Vietnam?? You JOKE. The CIA & the US gov funded Pol Pot's Killing Fields - in CAMBODIA. I suggest you study your US history.

Point 2: We HAVE to use oil. We as a society are vested in it's refinement. In 30-40 years it is possible that we can be using another fuel source, but untill then, we MUST support the current and post current transportation modes. Trucks, trains, cars all run on oil. You can NOT tell someone that thier 1994 Ford F150 contractor truck can no longer be driven because we shouldn't use oil. In that case, you effectively say "you can't work". Flawed logic. Economic self destruction.

Ohh my lord, are you misinformed. Do you seriously think "corporate" interests are being fought for? Saying that is an ignorant as saying we fought Japan for the US automakers. Arab oil is our US corporate COMPETITOR. It's like sinking 30 Billion into Honda and Toyota thinking that will solve the US automakers plight. Iraq is our largest US competitor. The LAST thing the US oil companies WANT is a viable Iraq with a good oil business model. On to my next point...

I'll disagree completely and state the above again in retort. The US serviceman/woman is anything but fodder to the "leadership" you speak of. Be it that the fasionable thing to do since Vietnam has been to protest conflict and claim social high ground in it's wake, the reality is entirely different. Ever hear of "The Killing Fields"? That's what 3 1/2 MILLION South Vietnamese people witnessed after we "pulled out". Never again should the US have that type of blood on thier hands.

By the way, "theater" comes from the Greek "Theatron". "A place for viewing spectacles". The original "Theaters" were specificaly designed to view combat and Gladitorial games, around 720-740 BC. So stop claiming a word and a venue that warriors created for you 2700 years ago and well... Then the meek inherited the earth, and here we are.

I can honestly say I have never been so offended in my life. Not by the song, nor by the message, nor by the mentality you bring to all of the above. But HOW DARE YOU tag the name "Fodder" on the right pocket of those BDU's. Is that what people who fight for you and your right to post this video are in your eyes? Fodder? You should be ashamed of yourslef.

The term "Theater of War" has been around since before Sun Tzu wrote "The Art of War" in 6th century BC.

Hi again! Loved the "What are we fighting for video" on your site. You're into WFUV and you're from New York - my home town! I've had some songs played on "Woody's Children" - I expect you've tuned into Bob Sherman's show. He's awesome. Thanks for adding our video to your fav's. Peace and Love, Shar

nice*work, this vid is an excellent example of,
The HE(ART) of Peace at it's best, exposing the subtle deceptions in words and actions which lead one's mind into The Art of War . . .

Hi Bruce - Many thanks for your comment! I'm finally focusing on learning how to respond to comments on YouTube. Just finished a big project back east - whew! You live on Whidbey, eh? Just a jump away from us on Orcas Island. I've got a bunch of friends on south Whidbey. Guess we'll get to meet one of these crazy days! In Peace, Shar
