Crude Buster, 1990 Data East

Also known as Two Crude (and on the Sega Genesis as Two Crude Dudes), this is a decent scrolling platform fighter.where you get to pick up just about anything (including your enemies) and use it as a weapon against your enemies. Good thing, because your regular attacks are pretty wimpy and short-range. Some enemies will grab you or throw weapons at you that will drain your energy until you wail on the buttons or wiggle the joystick enough to shake them off. In between rounds you recharge with cola.

The Sega Genesis version of this game is pretty good. Also of note, this is the only game I know of that has a killer Santa Claus as an enemy. I like it!

@wokkaflokka81 I think the only place I played this was at Malibu Gran Prix in Orlando, FL. We were visiting Epcot while we stayed there. Within a block or so of the hotel was the Malibu Gran Prix. OK game, I really liked the killer Santa Claus on the third level who throws knives, grenades and needles.

Although the arcade original has better graphics, I still prefer the Genesis port since the music is slightly better and the difficulty is more balanced. The arcade game's bosses take forever to beat and you easily die in 3 hits.

"Onward, Crude Buster!" ...well, it's makes more sense than "Onward, Two Crude Dudes!"

...picking up bad guys is fun!

Differences: More quotes, fluid animation, more detail, music that still fits on a Genesis, and no bonus stages...

Rough, fun, and typically Data East arcade action game, well in the spirit of DragonNinja.

The MD/GEN version is one of the best 2-player arcade action games on the home console.
