you don't stair down a barrel of a gun when ur committing suicide. this is a bad interpretation of the song. its definitely about excepting a hard life.

@eaognr a pistol does have a barrel you can change it out for a comp. barrel. barrels that are rifled differently and are more accurate

staring down the barrle is a metaphor u morron....u don't get what the song is about. It's talking about how hard life is. He's says "what ever happened to the young mans heart?" it means thats life is so bad that it feels like he's staring down the barrel of a .45...it's not talking about suicide, it's talking about how hard life is. u're just too stubborn to realize that, i know what it's like to almost take my life, and i can tell u that thats not what this song is about.

@reaper15c all songs are up for how the hearer interprets it. But he is def talking about shooting himself in the head. you dont get much more plain and simpler than a .45
