At about 3:27, I thought I heard Shavers' ghost making an entrance on his muted horn, but turns out it was just a baby with a decent ear...

Duly noted.

Mr. Roberts, your bass walk is amazing!

Thanks for the reply. You don't seem to have trouble maintaining clean articulation without touching the guitar with your right hand fingers. I use down-up picking as well, but my fingers lightly graze (not anchor on) the finger-rest, curled in a loose fist. The sound you get from your technique is quite desirable. What shape/thickness of pick best facilitates your approach? Thanks for taking time to reply. Hopefully I'll catch some of your gigs when I come to New York this fall. Sincerely, Owen

In good taste as always, Mr. Alden. Do you use alternate or consecutive picking, or both depending on the situation and/or tempo?

I basically use all down/up alternate picking except for some phrases-on this tune, for the main lick I use down-up-up-up-up-down

Whoops-I meant down-up-up-up-down
