@880906 Not to jump in too much, but I thought I couldn't let this one go; THE book on incorporating your bass drum into fills etc is Colin Bailey's 'Bass Drum Control Solos'. Not just 'Bass Drum Control', which is also a great classic book and definitely worth it but the actual 'Solos' book. There is nothing better if you want to bring your foot up to speed so to speak.
