I'm from Northern Ireland, This song is about a loyalist (Protestant) Gang led by Lenny Murphy, that roamed Belfast in the mid to late 70's, they tortured and killed Random Catholics. they scared everyone in Belfast.. A Great book is written by Martin Dillon called the shankill butchers. I truly recommend it. the singer in this has obviously read it.

You're right, this song is damn creepy, and atmospherically great for this episode. Well done!

what has supernatural got to do with the shankil butchers
-
There were Irish themselves though. Weren't they protestants who terrorized Catholics?
what has this got to do with the Shankill Butchers? Is the group that sing this song called the shankill butchers? If it is that sick the shankill butchers are loyalist murders

The group that sings this is The Decemberists--they sing folk songs that they've written themselves. The video has nothing to do with the real Shankill Butchers. It's from Supernatural, an American TV show about two brothers hunting evil things. I'm sorry, I meant no offense. I did not know that the Shankill Butchers were a real group of people until after I made this video. I just like both The Decemberists and Supernatural, and thought that the song was appropriate for the episode.
