Great job by the pilot, you're kidding right? The captain on this plane basically crashed it on the runway prior to the go-around due to the high sink rate and hard/bounced landing. The aircraft was totalled due to overstress on the fuselage and landing gear, what the industry calls a "hull loss." It was categorized as a crash by the NTSB with significant injuries to several flight attendants and first officer. No "great job" about that except that there were no fatalities. Blind luck on that.
I was on this plane. This plane was carrying US soldiers and service personnel back to the US from combat zones overseas. The pilot did an excellent job rolling on the throttle and bringing us back around. It was very unnerving to think that you survived a combat zone and yet were going to possibly die the first time back to the states. Anyway, great job again by the pilot. As for the flight attendants, one word of advise...Chose something else to say repeatedly other than "Brace, Brace"...
Looks like a high sink rate right before the touchdown. I understand the aircraft right side was close to going off the runway. The pilot took the plane around and ultimately landed on runway 33L. Initial touchdown was on runway 10. They were lucky, I think, to make it back to the airport after taking a crippled plane back into the air.
Believe it or not, that thing is still sitting over at the mid-field cargo complex. It appears that it has been gutted of usable parts including all three engines have been removed.

The thing I notice about these hard landings is the plane is coming in fast.
