That's EXACTLY what he doing. Making all Christians that truly believe and looking forward a biblical truth of a rapture look bad.
But even these was necessary because there must come a falling away of the faith and people will get disillusioned about the Blessed Hope when people keep predicting it.
More likely the rapture won't happen until 2021 but I could be wrong :)
