Fr. Michael Himes, professor of theology at Boston College, presents a last lecture—a talk in which the speaker shares his or her wisdom about the most important things in life. Fr. Himes is the author of numerous articles and books, including two that were recognized with the Catholic Press Association Book Award in Theology: Fullness of Faith: The Public Significance of Theology (Paulist Press, 1993) and Ongoing Incarnation: Johann Adam Möhler and the Beginnings of Modern Ecclesiology (Crossroad Herder, 1997). In 1992 the Boston College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa presented him with its Award for Outstanding Teaching.

  • Thank you Fr. Himes for this wonderful and, indeed, wonderfully inspiring lecture. The section on Integrity - that one is the same person to all whom one encounters - is something that I shall remember and cherish and strive to be worthy of through the days of my life. Thanks also to Boston College for posting.

  • This was profound and amazing and exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you so much. I have taken notes and will pass it on. :)

  • awesome speaker...very much inspiring...

  • Excellent

  • I loved every minute of the lecture. Fr, Himes pulled me in and never let me go....Bravo!

  • @Shqipria5 far from it, they teach pretty much everything, including classes on orthodoxy. Fr. Himes actually teaches a class about what is wrong with religion and how people can still have faith even when it is absurd

  • @Shqipria5 - Knowledge and wisdom should not be labeled - it is sought out beyond formal education - I am not a Jew nor am I a Muslim, but study both the Torah and Qu'ran ...... Never have I been to Boston College, nor have I been to Rikers Island......But Seek Knowledge and Wisdom from everything and everywhere- Understand what matters
