OMG, you talk about it with so much ... nonchalance!

The same thing happened to me 2 months ago...

actually the result is the same, but it got stuck in the door jam at work

A heavy fast self-shutting steel door at Tim Hortons ...

A couple questions for you,

- Have you ever thought about prosthesys?

- Are you ashamed of it?

I ask you this because I'm a 20 years old boy and I made out of this

accident a real drama ... I do not go out in public unless I'm wearing gloves and I still feel yuck..

@MetroNickP Well I've had 12 years to get used to it ;D

I'm sorry a similar thing happened to you. I have never really thought seriously about prosthesis; it was never something that came up during the period surrounding the accident. Maybe one day! I definitely don't have the money for it now!

I wouldn't say I'm ashamed of it. I'm always aware of it in public, and I think I worry more about making other people uncomfortable more than being so myself...

@MetroNickP It will definitely take you a little while to get used to if your accident only happened two months ago. But it will get easier to deal with, I promise! Don't be ashamed - if your injury is similar to mine it really is quite small compared to what could have happened, and the types of amputations other people deal with. We've really lost no functionality, which is something to be thankful for :D

But it will just take time. I wish you the best :D

Hmm, similar fing happened to me with a deli slicer when I was cutting cucumbers in the sandwich bar I worked at. Can you believe we never actually found the piece of finger!!! No extra charge for the protein in that salad sandwich.

The fing that really pissed me off was that I played guitar and it took ages to get the required callous back on the fingie tip/stump.

i almost got my finger choped off a steel door slamed on it and i pulled away but it was stuck so i karate kicked the door open feel on my knees in pain looked at it gained some sence of why it hurt and that it would be over soon and looked at my finger again when i wasnt in chocking pain and my finger was purple but not choped off thankfully but there was a gap in my finger XD

Had to pick up 4 fingers at work and put them on ice for a guy who got his hand stuck in a gear and another 1 finger for a dude using a metal slicer
