For added realism they should have women wearing a burkah armed with AK47s shooting back at the soldiers, while the Iraqi men stand around and smoke cigarrettes while they hold hands with the other men.

@Sugardude1000 It's basically a scouting manuver. While firing through an ACOG scope, you're eye is trained on the crosshair and the enemy you're firing at, and it's not recomended, Because of the crosshair, to Look for the exact position of an enemy while looking through the ACOG. So putting the weapon down, finding the position, and raising the weapon again makes it easier to aquire your target fast and smoothly.

@Sugardude1000 well real life is a bit different from call of duty, my friend. in real life when you hold a gun steady down the sights, your arms will eventually get tired and start shaking. you have to periodically rest your arms to ever prevent that from happening.
