im ambers step dad i posted the comments i've been vertical caving since 1989 dats 22 yrs and ive been a hi-rise window cleaner specializing in rope and bosuns chair for 20 yrs also i ws trained and served on the allegheny mountain search and rescue team from 1988-1990 SO YEAH I'M MORE EXPERIENCED AND HAVE BETTER QUALIFICATIONS THAN YOU . BUT YOU R CORRECT I SHOULDA HAD A HELMET ON MY STEP DAUGHTER .p.s. my rope ws 7/16 p.m.i. static kermantle no doubt about it

@ashlybummer For a 9 yr. old, you or your parents, need to make you wear a helmet when on rope and need to wash your mouth out with soap. Of all the caves I've explored in over 16 years of cave exploration, NOT ONE CAVE HAS EVER BEEN CLOSED. How many rappels have you done? I have over 20 MILES of vertical rope work under my belt, including a 4,000 (Yes, FOUR THOUSAND) foot single rope rappel in 2006. Hmm, that would make you pre-kindergarten age at that time. Why all the hate mail?

there are no rope protectors in use ,WHAT IDIOTS NO WONDER ALL THE AWESOME CAVES GET CLOSED BECAUSE OF ACCIDENTS DUE TO WANNABES WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEGE OF SAFE VERTICAL CAVING

@ashlybummer Wannabees? You have no clue. Rope pads were used for the 404 foot rappel. They just weren't shown in the video. in the other rap, they were not required. What kind of rope was being used in your video? Static Kern Mantle? I doubt it.

And speaking of "KNOWLEGE OF SAFE VERTICAL CAVING", Rappel off El Capitan (2,649 ft) and Mount Thor on Baffin island (1220 meters), or a shorter rappel like Fantastic Pit (586') THEN CLIMB BACK UP SAFELY, and perhaps I'll listen. Why all the hate? Forgot where the "CAPS LOCK" key is?
