My friend was burned while he was at work. Part of a fireball hit him and set his upper body on fire.
Indirect heat from the fire burned his back; he said he knew what a chicken feels like as it cooks in an oven.
The heat overwhelmed him, and he barely remembers being taken from the building.
He worked at One World Trade Center. Thirty of his co-workers never made it out.
He lights a candle in their memory.
