Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas were partners in their own production company from 1966 through '73. Only a few of their series lasted more than one season- including "THE GUNS OF WILL SONNETT" and "THE MOD SQUAD". Those were syndicated in separate deals from the one Spelling's company produced. Eventually, King World got the rights to them....

@Jnelson09Returns It does sound like the ABC News theme.
-
actually it either ended in late 1990 or early 1991 because it was last used in season 7 of jeopardy.
-
Is it just me, or does the KW music sound a bit like the ABC News theme?
-
They did, from fall 1984 up to 1989.
-
and yet I wonder why this Spelling show ended up with neither CPT or Worldvision...

Yep! That takes me back to my childhood since I was 11 years old when I was still in bed with the TV on watching the closing credits to "Branded" right before "Eyewitness News: This Morning" starts at 5:00 AM on WABC-TV back in around 1989.
After I watched the end credits to "Branded" I saw the KingWorld logo that says "Presents" on it, this has got nothing to do with the closing logo, it should be at the beginning of the movie or TV show.

Guns of WS aired on KGO (ABC) in San Francisco on Sundays at one in the morning last year. That's how I first saw it. I thought it was a very strange program to be repeated on a major station, so your supposition could be right.
Eric, didn't CBS and Viacom split a few years back?

Maybe, don't know... for security.

Nice one, LS! It's too bad you can't keep this pretty sweet combo up because of money-grubbing meanies over at Viacom. Anyway, nice find! ^_^
