These guys will have their jobs/pensions mullered too just like everyone else in the public services. I doubt most of them have any need for an abstract notion of "respect".

"Your jobs next" was the chant that went up. One of them got in my face when we were chanting "we pay your wages" and then seemed genuinely surprised when I told him I'd had a job for 3 years and was a classroom assistant. They've been brainwashed to think all the anarchos are jobless parasites.

@QwertyBstard As for them standing right outside The Ritz they are in as good a tactical position as they can be in that situation (a situation where the public-of whom they protect and serve- are throwing explosive missiles at them). This disgusts me beyond belief as these are the same people being attacked that you approach when your house has been burgled, when your children are assaulted, when you have been raped and I could very easily go on. Public not private service. Show some respect.

@QwertyBstard I don't understand your logic. The police attend these events to try and prevent/control large scale public disorder which is created by the protestors. The police are there to help out people trying to go about their daily routine. Their purpose is to maintain some degree of social equilibrium. You can clearly see protestors vandalising outside The Ritz and so that is why police officers are there. Not to protect rich people, but to protect people from themselves. Cont.
