My So-Called Life The Letter

It is amazing to me that so many fans of this (wonderful) show remain so devoted to Jordan Catalano. Sure, he's pretty. He's got the mysterious thing working for him. He has "first heartbreak" written all over him.
But the truth is, you don't really want Jordan Catalano to love you back. His job, in the world of 15-year-old girls, is to push you to realize, the hard way, that you ARE worth being loved back.
But as for the actual loving bit, The Brian Krakows of the world do that best.

I LOVE that line. "You could tell me to go to hell, and I'd go. If you wanted me to. And I'd send you a letter from there."

@gigglefizz I love what you said about how the Brian Krakows of the world are the best at loving. It's true. While I didn't think that either guy was right for Angela, I really like Brian and am not a Jordan fan. I don't hate Jordan, but I don't get the appeal. I would take Brian over Jordan any day. Granted, it would have to be a Brian that was right for me, but the Jordans of the world really aren't stable or reliable, and any guy who would pressure you into sex really doesn't love you.

this letter makes your heart really and truly break. like as i'm typing this my chest is constricting. this is the most beautiful letter in the world to me. it's incredibly and mind blowing. every time i read it somewhere or hear brian reading it i at least get teary eyed. his voice, the words, music. everything combined makes that extremely powerful.

sorry, that was meant to read 'as SHE used to think'

Was she really in love with Jordan, or just her idea of him? She thought he was such a deep, mysterious guy, when in fact he was much simpler and rather clueless.
She certainly seemed *very* torn in the last scene when she found out it was really Brian who wrote it - and disappointed and sad when Brian did not openly confirm it or do anything to stop her from leaving with Jordan. So I'm not sure that she was really that in love with Jordan as he used to think.

I've never really liked Jordan. He just seemed to be a rather shallow guy who just seemed interesting on the surface because his cluelessness could be wrongly interpreted as mysteriousness and depth.
Brian was way better. (And yes, I am a girl)

I always thought Brian was annoying and completely unexciting as relationship material for Angela. He would be a good guy from someone, perhaps not her though.
