  • I used to go to all those parties, but I lived in the Palisades. Great pix.. really took me back. :)

  • @mimici09 , cool yeah. A lot of action in the Palisades too. I think the highlight was the 1984 Olympics when Jetty's Restuarant was still near Sunset Mesa. Folks would parade their gold medals at the bar, drinks on the house!

  • what does malibu or holly robsinson have to do with dogtown? can sunset mesa really be classified as malibu? what does tony alva have to do with malibu? haha, just giving you a hard time. david and paul=HOT. good vid, and thank you for the annotations ;) 5 stars (i mean thumbs up).

  • @RockAndFunk - Oh yeah, it was the DTers that used to call us "Lil S.M." (Sunset Mesa).

  • @tmesa

I was just kidding :) I love this footage/pics, if you have more, please upload sometime.

  • @RockAndFunk - Got it, thx!

  • @MalibuMuffie - Yup, he's still is winning contests!

  • @monaviekelly - Andy hang glides now up in Sylmar. Yeah the Mesa in the late 70's early 80's was a blast. Especially when the Olympics were in LA in 1984, talk about some beach volleyball games.

  • @deepfreezevideo - Had to include Topanga local Hal Jepsen! He and Scott Dittrich were part of the local "Topanga film colony" to mirror the other film colony at "Malibu Colony" I storyboarded what would have been Hal's last film called "California Summer", Sadly it was never produced. Hopefully Hall will be inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame someday.

  • @RockAndFunk -Glad you liked it. Most DT surfers surfed Malibu and Topanga (near Sunset Mesa) The band Adrenaline was the premiere Dogtown party band of the 70's. All 70's Malibu local went to Samohi. Alva visited the Mesa often and gave us all skate wheels. Hazy memories of the past never to return, rock on.
