This video applies to every lithium-ion battery-powered gadget out there. Have you ever "calibrated" a lithium ion battery?

Old battery tech was nickel based: ni-mh for short. New battery technology is lithium based: li-ion for short.

  • Awesome video!! I always though unplugging the phone when it was done is a must, and I always thought you had to prime a battery!

    thanks man liked n subb'd

  • Thanks for debunking theses myths ! I'm sick of my friend performing full discharges. It actually hurt the battery. One myth you could add, more directed at laptops users : pleaaaasse for the love of technologies, don't remove your battery when you're on the power cord.

  • Another tip for li-ion batteries. u must keep a small amount of energy inside the battery, no energy inside li-ion batteries ruins those so badly.

  • @arnoutza you can plug it in and unplug it as many times as you would like. it may not be good for the phone's port, but the battery will be fine.

  • It's actually bad for your battery to drain it 0% al lot.

  • keep in mind the overcharge protection circuit needs to be there, cheap chinese batteries tend to not have them, hell i kno people who's chinese cellphone exploded while charging ...

  • Right but wrong too... It is very important to fully discharge your battery before charge so not to wear out portions of the battery, also tho incorrect 100% charges are software issues, the "Double Battery Charge" technique, is done to properly charge all cells in the lithium ION battery.

so... you do want to charge your phone completely and discharge completely ITS ACTUALLY VERY IMPORTANT!!! not just for better and longer battery life, but also better phone performance

  • So glad I subbed your channel! Really enjoy your vids!
