GISELLE - OMNIA VINCIT AMOR (LOVE CONQUERS ALL)

Giselle has been the undisputed masterpiece of the romantic ballet for over 160 years. Choreographer David Dawson ventured to give this ballet a contemporary injection and succeeded con brio.
As a former dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and Ballett Frankfurt, he became house choreographer of the Dutch National Ballet in 2004 and he received that same title here at the Royal Ballet Flanders in 2010.

The story of Giselle remained unaltered, but now plays in a timeless frame, doing the magic of emotions -- so typical for the classical ballet -- justice: fierce emotions like love, deception and revenge cut deep in the human soul.
Those who know the classical version will be surprised -- though in a pleasant way: conductor David Coleman reworked the original score by Adolphe Adam and the Symphony Orchestra of Flanders makes it shine.

GISELLE - OMNIA VINCIT AMOR (LIEFDE OVERWINT ALLES)
