Its a beechcraft that the air corps are planning on replacing the casa with. Its a very rare photo because this was taken of a trial aircraft on loan to us by the USAF.

@MYNAMEISTHERANDOMEST Javelins are more for anti-armour roles, but I'd say they could take out helicopters without too much trouble. The problem with the Bofors gun is that it's unguided - whether the rounds hit aircraft or not depends entirely on the skill of the operator. We also have the RBS-70, a guided missile launcher, but it would be very hard to hit fighter aircraft. It needs a laser (guided by the operator himself)

would the air corps consider getting a few f-16's or some light jet aircraft in the future? just so we can ensure our air defence. or would AA missiles suit us more?

@mepizzasmangled what are you expecting for a pop. of ~4.5mil. in the eu, with the atlantic on 1 side, brits and europe on the other, no oil and involved in no conflicts. think first. iceland is the biggest threat.

brilliant video mate the air corps are a great outfit with some great helicopters and planes, the augusta westland being my all time fav includung the dauphin 365 which i had the privilege to sit in one day thanks to the air corps captain in command, would be my ultimate dream to fly for them but im gonna stick with my self financing ppl training in the meantime, aint easy but ill get there, is feidir linn!
