Traditionally served for breakfast on special occasions and festive days, in Sri Lanka. A rice cake made with the rich coconut milk and its cream and enjoyed as a main dish accompanied by Katta Sambol or Lunu Miris (onion sambol)

Ingredients:
2 cups - long grain rice
2 cups - second coconut milk
1/4 -1/3 cup - coconut cream (first milk)
Salt to taste
Extra water, as needed to cook rice to required consistency

  • @pathmatharani sure you can use cow milk and creme but the taste will be quite different. The coconut milk is what makes this dish special. If you use water to cook the rice and only a little of the coconut cream at the end you can make this dish as well. Try it and let me know. Thanks for watching!
