United for peace and Justice; a non-profit organization in the US held various demonstrations in Washington DC against the war in Iraq. The protesters demanded to bring the U.S. troops home now and that Iraqi sovereignty must be reestablished immediately. The protesters also demanded that the Iraqi people, not foreigners, should make the decisions about the future of their country including security and the fact that
Iraqis should decide the structure of their economy and control Iraq's reconstruction. They also demanded that the corporate invasion of Iraq must end and the privatization laws passed under the occupation repealed including a guarantee to provide and protect labor and human rights in Iraq in accordance with international law.
