Gavin Maxwell had two otters. One was killed
as in this movie. The second died in his house fire. Too sad...:(

Hey folks if you get Gavin Maxwells trilogy on his life at Sandaig ( Camusfearna )not only is this a partly true story but the bastard Angus stopped his lorry, got out and then killed Mijbil with a pickhead . The otter was friendly and trusting to humans.If anyone gets to Sandaig (NW Scotland) they will see the grave of Edal another of his otters, closeby are Gavin Maxwells ashes.
He served as a Major in the Scots Guards invalided out in 1944.
