Well ... The background mix I build on 09-09-09 'cause it's just 9 months ago since my first theremin attempts ;-) So, actually 09-09-09-09 for me :p And I thought it was funny to do something special!
I build 2 days on the mix whereon I also made a studio version which sounds a lil' more better as this video and where you can find on http://www.may-art.hyves.nl (2nd playlist scrolling down on the left side of the page 2nd track!) ... ;-) OR you can download it from

http://www.yeapsystar.nl/Theremins%20-%20The%20Lion%20Sleeps%20Tonight%20Dela...

;-)

I hope y'all enjoy! It's also my first standing theremin video which sounds a lil' okay as it used to sound a lil' like a drunk cow before, hahaha! Pamela Kurstin IS right! Playing standing the theremin is quite hard!

* For the "Wee-Ma-Weh" choir I mixed 4 times my Moog Etherwave theremin ;-)
* I used 3 channels for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd voice parties
* I used one for the break going from the left to the right ;-)
* In the break I used my lil' Jaycar too ;-)
* At the end I also used another (more sharper) theremin party ;-)

... So well ... 9x Moog Etherwave and 1x the Jaycar! (y)

Oh well ... The ideo mix (melody-background music) could be better too, as my harddisk sometimes sucks while videotaping ... Should use more my lil' MP3 player to get straight parties as I play on hearing ;-)

  • this is so awesome , i had a friend who played the theremin and i realized it must be the theremin playing the really high pitches in the background of the original of this song ... i love this thank you

  • @dumpstahdirtay ALL parties were done by only 2 theremins ;-) 9 parties I did with my Moog Etherwave Plus theremin and 1 party with my little Jaycar ;-) Playing theremin is great! :D Thanx you like it!

  • excellent. multi-tracking theremins and doing it so well!

it takes years to get yourself playing at your best and that will be quite impressive given your progress and style.

the technique is aerial angling, which takes advantage of how we process angles into pitch versus discreet hand and finger positions.

  • Thaxnx for your sweet and uplifting kind words Rupert!

Ha! Yeah ... I know my hand & finger positions AS my volume works still are weird LOL! Still gotta work a lot on that, but the way I learn is partly autidactical (50 per cent) and the other part is by meditation, dreams, kinda inaugurations & guides ... Momently I'm not living in the best situation so meditation is hard now, though, I already "touched" the theremin before I got one, though this was in a dream while "opening" a pre-module :D

  • Ha! LOL!

Now I see what you actually wrote down, hehehe!

I know already you are a quite uniqueand extraordinary person in many of people's eyes ;-)

Though, I'm not the one who judges as I'm that happily crazy myzelf in a lot of ways ... Yep, sitting is easy, but I love challenges as I also play standing keys. Okay, I don't if I'm editing, but okay ;-)

  • i recently have started playing while sitting.

it is so much easier than standing

  • ... So I shouldn't complain at all, hahaha! Happily after all, my reflexes are okay, hahahaha!

    I'm glad you like it!

  • Thanx dear friend ;-)

Well ... At least it has take a couple of weeks before I found out the right way of standing LOL!

Still I sometimes do have some balance bugs, especially if I'm tired 'cause I especially will have them if I'm tired, like that anekdote of one time when I fetched a cup of Senseo coffee from the kitchen and I just fall backwards with hot coffee in a small cup ... But actually I didn't spill 1 drop of it! LOL!

Those balance bugs are crazy and comes on funny moments too. So ...

  • Great job! You've certainly improved during that last nine months. For someone who has been playing seated for a long time you seem to be standing very solid and still, which is good!

  • Well ... In some cases it's easier to use a whole hand's pitch than picking fingers, allthough it doesn't look that "professional" eh? (LOL!)

The advantage of picking fingers is that it makes the pitch range wider but you also easily will play false tones while you just can keep easier tones if you use whole hand's pitch ;-)

Still gotta build more on technical playing aspects ... :o)

    Thanx again!
