  • Love to see what album they choose to put in the very center of that album cover book that you showed first. The Julian Cope books have become collectibles. I still cannot believe how popular the Krautrock Sampler book has become?

When I saw Keith Moon play with The Who at Boston Garden in 1976, he collapsed after Substitute. But, they did come back and performed one of he best shows I ever saw in the 70's. I remember Moon's drum set was massive. I'll pass on that book though David~

  • @Paneeks1960 Yeah I'm hoping to find a fairly cheap KrautRockSampler at some point. Definitely not gonna spend 150 bucks on it! Yeah I figured that Keith Moon books would rattle a few feathers, sorry if it bothered you.

  • @McSoappy Nah, it didn't bother me at all because I was never a big fan of Keith Moon. I loved his drumming don't get me wrong but I wouldn't want to read a book on him.If it was John Bonzo Bonham that would be another story. Now he was a great drummer. Take care David~

  • @Paneeks1960 Cool. Yeah, I always preferred Bonham to Moon. His kick drum work is just amazing.

  • Great video response David! Just what I was hoping for, man. I really appreciate the recommendations and will definitely put them on my list to preview. I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up those Rough Jazz and Japanrocksampler titles! I can do without the Keith Moon book, though. ;-) Really, man. Thanks very much!

  • @wertsdb71 Yeah that jazz book is a must have for me now. I really use it a lot. The Japrocksampler book is probably gonna open up a new obsession for me!

  • @stephievon Yeah thank you Miss Stephanie! :)

  • @MrPlatypus9 From what I've learned, a good place to start is Satori by the Travellin' Flower Band.......pretty neat stuff.

  • I don't think I've ever heard any Japanese rock bands other than the occasional music that opens and closes some of the anime. But I know a lot of those are pop singers which must be worlds away from their rock culture. Interesting stuff, though.

  • nice recommendations, david!
