Inside a Recording Session

Unlike most college students, this is what I get to do for class projects!!! I'm in the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music in Tisch at NYU... best program EVER. For this project our task is to take a recording (in this case Time by Pink Floyd) and re-record it from scratch. This means we have to get musicians and singers to replicate every part, and make sure to use recording techniques to make the sound quality of each track sound similar to the ones in the original recording.

This session we recorded Eli, one of our classmates, on the drums. He's playing along to the original Pink Floyd track, and learned the exact drum part from the song.

It's due April 20th. If it's okay with the rest of my group I'll post our final product!

I'm really interested in going to NYU for recorded music....can you tell me you did to get in for your creative portfolio, essays and everything else that went into it such as grades and test scores?
