@mlover15220 Well, I can tell you our conservation society supports it as it has employed many local villagers who would otherwise be poachers. It gives them a real wage to support and educate their kids. And a lot fewer animals end up being hunted. Animal numbers increase over time and wild areas are preserved from agriculture.

@slommerts I watched it to honor the heroism and courage of the lion in the face of certain death. As for the men, they are cold-hearted cowards. They are shameful.

I'm no hunter of lions but the truth is that they are threatened not by hunters but by urban expansion and poaching. Hunting/safaris actually works to help preserve them. The money hires locals as guides and is used to set aside game preserves which improve the chance for the lions to increase numbers.
