  • ok no one can fully insult a 280. a buddy and i had one. 240k miles. shot transmission. had to shift it through the gears. body was shot. we still took it down to the drag track and whooped every newer stock car there. the car was a beast and the only reason it quit was because my friend left the hood off over winter. you cannnot call the car a pos. and as far as complex. the l28 fuel injection system is by far the simplest i have dealt with

  • You might not have a clue the massive budget the military blows through maintaining their old helicopters in factory condition too. If only things worked in the real world like they do in video games. ;)

  • At this time we had a ported & polished head, zprace full race header, race ported & polished Intake, 550cc fuel injectors. We have a new video coming soon of the first true street only 8 second 1/4 mile NO NOS, METH, just turbo 2.8L. We also have a fully stock 1983 280zx turbo with just cat back exhaust, our computer box, and filter going mid 13s in the 1/4 on street tires. Stock Intake, Stock Injectors, Stock Original turbo, No boost Controller, Stock Down Pipe, Stock AFM, J-Pipe

  • instead of saying whats stock, what have you modified other than the turbo at this time? im really interested.

  • Awesome i like the way you guys keep the Z stock and ratty and go out and embarrass other cars thumbs up

  • thanks deans transmissions "slipping in 2nd"

  • 280Z not a ZX The ZX is a 79-83

  • This has to be the ugliest, shittiest looking, and fastest 280z l28et i have ever seen. If its real, you sure put a lot of cars to shame with that s30.

  • That's an l28et from a 280zx turbo, with bigger injectors, larger turbocharger, improved downpipe, front mount intercooler, rising rate fuel pressure regulator,60mm throttle body, and aftermarket ecu (megasquirt etc.)I have done the same swap with my 76 2+2 and it was stupid fast till i detonated.Broke a piston skirt, blew the head gasket, and took two teeth off the crank sprocket...I was using the stock turbo though.I am curious to know if you are using a p90 or n42 head on that 1?

  • After watching video again, I think they dropped an early 80's 280ZX Turbo engine into an ratty, old 1976 280z, which seems to me to be a colossal waste of time and money.

  • I don't get it! .... I owned a 1979 280ZX and it accelerated 0-60, just as fast as my buddies mid-70's Corvette, but after that I couldn't keep up. This car looks like a 1976 280Z, but not a 280ZX. I'm very sure the 280ZX was not available until 1979 and the 280ZX Turbo until 1981!..... There was no stock '76 ZX Turbo! Possibly a reworked 280z with a turbo kit? ...... What's the deal?
