You remember the "pump" sneaker;Nike made them and Reebok made them and SLN made a brilliant parody of it with the 'Nikee Turkey'.Here Michael Chang illustrates the superiority of the pump sneaker and encourages us to pump up and air out.

@ckbreakdancer no when pressing it, you can feel some air being pumped into your instep area. it's a total gimmick but was very popular when it came out. I think it started off at around 140 bucks

i bought my reebok pump in 1996, when the price went down to clearance at $29.99. i used to nag my parent to buy me one for $180 back when i was in middle school in '89. i'm glad they didn't because those pumps wouldn't last a day with the all the gangstaz in LA.

reebok will always be in nike and adidas shadow, never going to be as good as nike or adidas

it would fill an air chamber around your foot. to give a tighter fit for better anle support. they cost about $150 -$200 back in the day i bought a pair 10yrs later for $50 . and yes in the 90s u would get jacked for your pumps.
