None of this makes sense. Why would the Sith not be able to access this green shard? Every website I have checked said that I can get a green shard on Taris

This is only for Repunlic. Empire got exclusive datacrons as well.

For Empire at least, the Datacron is not there. It is in the Neebray warehouse on Balmorra. It still requires two people to push a button but it is infinitely easier to get to.

Me and my friend used the Force Push method to get up there. Basically we start a duel near below the datacron/ledge. He keeps jumping up and with a well timed force push (when he's at his highest in the jump) you'll see him making quite some vertical distance and ends up on the ledge. After that I just Force Leaped after him and tadaa, we both can reach the datacron. :)

@thealterator I'll go roam this area again tomorrow. A guildie and I searched all over this area the other day and there is no way for the Imperials to enter the zone. The door isn't even open, it's an innopperable wall with a door texture on it.

You will want to have two people for this to activate the air pressure to shoot you up. Respawn in the room is pretty quick as well. I have never had the issue of the door being closed. GL!
