@Laurnea It's hardly a disease, religion, a staple in our country, holds virginity too highly. America is a very sex negative society. And in regards to your friend, she probably regrets it because she did it for the wrong reasons. It's not bad to still have your virginity, you might be a little uncomfortable in intimate relationships, but it's your choice, and it is certainly not bad to lose your virginity at a time when you feel ready.

@coppersulphate002 What's wrong with being a virgin at that point in their lives is that it's a normal human function. You're right, ex is about love commitment and trust, and the fact that they're so uncomfortable with it prove that our society puts too much importance on sex and virginity. There's nothing wrong with sex either, and though it is their personal choice, that woman is obviously oppressed when it comes to sexuality.

It's only a problem if you're unhappy. Asexuals are fine without sex, and other prefer to only have sex with those whom they love etc. Not everyone wants sex. I don't see the point of waiting for marriage though, because if you want to have sex eventually it's probably best to experience it first. If you're sexually incompatible it can ruin a relationship.

oprah wasnt tryin to say that there was anything wrong with being a virgin. she was tryin to help these women get over the issues of their past. this woman had a lot of issues with her dad sleeping with tons of chicks and tossing them away. she said she never wanted to be treated like those women so she refused to let any man get close to her.
